The Social and Sport Contribution Fund "Daam" sponsored the 7th Disaster Management Camp organized by the Qatar Red Crescent from 2 to 12 April. This sponsorship is part of the strategic vision of Daam that aims to effectively contribute to the activities and initiatives, which aim to achieving the societal development and building capabilities through utilizing of the Fund`s resources and allocating them to the support of social, sport and cultural fields.
Mr. Abdul Rahman Al Mannai, Daam Deputy Chief Executive Officer, attended the opening and concluding celebrations and parts of the field training during the camp period and delivered a speech during the inauguration celebrations in which he expressed that "Daam is proud to cooperate with the Red Crescent and sponsor the camp, stressing that this is one of the Fund objectives that aims to promote societal development and empower individuals through strategic support whose fruits will be reaped by the people of Qatar." After inspecting the camp and the training sessions attended by the volunteers through a simulation scenario on how to deal with disasters, Al Mannai stressed that Daam endeavors to achieve a leading and pioneering position in sponsoring activities that will make positive and sustainable impact on the life of Qataris, adding that "We thank His Excellence Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, may God protect him, as well as the Qatar Red Crescent for organizing this wonderful activity and hope that we will cooperate in other future projects that will help boost the Qatari society."
Mr. Yousif bin Ahmad Al Hammadi, Executive Director of Qatar Red Crescent, expressed his gratitude to the Social and Sport Contribution Fund (Daam), Official Sponsor of the 7th Disaster Management Camp, for their generous initiative, stating that this initiative will directly help in building the readiness culture among the Qatari society and boost their readiness capabilities to deal with any exceptional circumstances, God forbids.
At the end of the 7th Disaster Management Camp, Al Hammadi also added that "I would like to express my gratitude and gratitude of all members of the Qatar Red Crescent to His Excellence Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al Thani, Daam Chairman, and to all officials of the Fund. We are really happy with this strategic partnership and fruitful cooperation with Daam and its support to one of the most important domestic programs of the Red Crescent. This stresses the key principles of Daam that supports humanitarian, social and voluntary activities."
It is worth noting that the Social and Sport Contribution Fund (Daam) was established under Emiri Decree No. 44 of 2010 in order to promote sustainable societal development in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. The Fund provided support to many projects and initiatives throughout the last years including, but not limited to, the Handball World Cup, Hamad Hospital Expansion Project, Teach for Qatar Initiative, National Day, and National Sports Day activities.
